Welcome to Hyacinth’s Place

Hyacinth’s Place is a permanent, affordable housing program in Washington, DC that provides comprehensive therapeutic and social re-integration services for homeless women with a mental diagnosis. In collaboration with the DC Department of Behavioral Health, we create an environment to nurture and support each woman’s recovery —focusing on emotional, financial, and vocational stability.

Women are challenged to move above and beyond their personal circumstances while being equipped with skills to improve their quality of life. Serving women from all eight wards of the city, we strive to facilitate life-long self-sufficiency...

The $3.5 million, four-story, 9,228 square foot development provides 15 furnished residential studio apartments complete with individual full bathrooms and kitchenettes. The building space accommodates staff offices, laundry facilities, and group activities. In addition, the design incorporates green building principles which embody the regenerative spirit in which the project was imagined.

The bedrock of our organization rests on honesty, efficient stewardship of resources, and utmost respect for one another and the community we serve. Our core values permeate every operational task and service we render.
